ABOUT GARY
Gary
Gary is an experienced and versatile piano and music tutor who has been teaching for nearly 10 years in and around Newbury. His positive, empathetic approach and passion for music has proved to be very popular with students of all ages.
Although he can be strict if your personal goals are mastery of the instrument, he believes that positive reinforcement can produce better and more effective outcomes for his students.
He is very good at reading people and assessing their musical strengths and weaknesses allowing him to adapt the way he teaches to each individual. This in turn allows the student to achieve their potential within their personal goals.
Gary teaches a wide variety of music genres and disciplines including: Classical, Jazz, Pop, Composition, Music Theory and Music Technology (Logic and Sibelius)
Outside of Teaching
His personal music development has been, and continues to be, diverse. He is classically trained but also has significant experience and enthusiasm for Jazz music as well as more contemporary genres of music, including live performances.
Gary loves to perform and compose when he isn’t teaching. His original music can be found on Spotify and Apple Music and has been aired on internet radio.
